Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing
A safe and gentle alternative to traditional laser resurfacing, it is very effective for resolving cosmetic problems which are normally difficult to treat including: acne scars, brown pigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores and stretch marks. Treatments may be safely preformed on the face and body with a relatively quick recovery time.
Fractional resurfacing uses an array of very narrow columns of laser light, targeting and stimulating a series of microscopic areas while leaving healthy cells surrounding the treated area intact, allowing a quicker healing time. Collagen and skin fiber production are stimulated, resulting in a smoother skin texture and an increase in firmness. Most people see an improvement after one treatment, however to receive optimal results three sessions are recommended. These treatments should be spaced about three to four weeks apart to allow your skin to heal and rejuvenate. This gradual process is safer for your skin than traditional ablative resurfacing and involves only mild discomfort during the procedure.
In order to assure that your treatment is as comfortable as possible, you will have an anesthetic cream placed on the areas being treated. Treatment may take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending upon the area being treated. After the treatment, the area tends to experience some mild swelling for about two days, followed by about a week of mild to moderate redness and peeling.
